Portfolio > Garden Series

These works explore the holistic way our planet’s diverse rhizospheres extend from the soil into the many community networks we as humans share. For many years, I worked as a professional gardener and use the concept of a garden as a motif in many of these pieces. Natural and man-made materials were applied, with the addition of oil paint, to convey the complexity of these lush and diverse systems, and to reflect upon their resonance with regard to humanity’s resilience in the face of war, illness, and environmental strife.
